SIP Trunk Ireland — +353 Termination & DID Numbers

Dublin hosts the EMEA support desks of many large software companies, so Irish numbers are often the front door for customers across Europe. ComReg has also brought in measures against spoofed Irish CLIs, so overseas calls showing Irish numbers you do not hold are increasingly blocked.

Overview

Routing calls to Ireland

Calling windows matter: Ireland runs on Dublin time, and we route +353 calls for Dublin, Cork and Galway, Limerick and Waterford across several carriers so a peak-hour congestion event on one network does not take your campaign down.

ComReg sets the Ireland numbering plan, and our prefix tables follow it closely. Supported number types: geographic, national, mobile and toll-free. Inside the country, numbers are dialled with a 0 trunk prefix. Strip it before you send the call, and send 353 followed by the national number.

For inbound numbers in Ireland, plan on paperwork: proof of address and company or identity documents are usually required before a DID goes live. Termination needs no documents beyond normal account checks.

What you get

What you get in Ireland

One account and one balance, with the same SBCs for termination and inbound numbers.

  • CLI route tier

Caller ID delivered end to end on +353 calls. Use it for sales, support and any traffic where answer rates matter.
  • Non-CLI route tier

A lower-cost tier where caller ID delivery is not guaranteed. Suitable for internal or transactional traffic that does not depend on the CLI.
  • Number types

Geographic, National, Mobile, Toll-free. DID availability varies by range and city.
  • Codecs

G.711a/u and G.729 on every route, G.722 and Opus where the far end supports them. T.38 for fax.
  • Channels on demand

Concurrent call limits are set per account and raised as your traffic grows. No fixed channel bundles.
  • Multi-carrier failover

Every +353 prefix is mapped to more than one carrier. Failed attempts move to the next one automatically.

FAQ

Ireland SIP trunk questions

What are Irish freephone numbers?

Freephone numbers start with 1800. They are free for callers and billed to the number holder.

Can I show an Irish CLI on calls from abroad?

Only if the number is yours. ComReg's anti-spoofing measures block calls that present Irish numbers without authorisation.

Do Irish DIDs require documents?

Usually. Geographic numbers generally need an address in the area and company details.

How is a Dublin number written in E.164?

+353 1 followed by 7 digits. Drop the leading 0 of the area code.
